Welcome to the gateway into out Forgotten Realms D&D Campaign.

Within will be stored all the logs and information relative to this extensive campaign.

About the Campaign

Our Forgotten Realms campaign started in the summer of “real world year” 2001, with Alban Wood as DM. After about 8 games, Alban had to stop DM’ing, so Antonin Côté took over that job, his character becoming an NPC helping the rest of the group. The first part of the campaign started in Cormyr, near Hullack Forest, in the spring of “Forgotten Realms year” 1372. The characters helped defend the town of Thunderstone, which was under siege from an army of orcs. They learned of the sinister plans of the Storm King, a powerful evil Cloud Giant residing in the Citadel of Storms in the Thunderpeaks, who dreamed of conquering Cormyr, Sembia and the Dales. The adventurers’ journeys then led them to the Dragon Coast, where they fought an evil organisation called the Slave Lords (in an adaptation from the AD&D module “Scourge of the Slave Lords”).

During that part, the core of the adventuring group was the following, with some occasional NPC’s tagging along:

  • Aravilar – Sun Elf Sorcerer – played by Charles Aboukhaled
  • Cora Thorngage – Ghostwise Halfing Druid – played by Damien Planté
  • Denek Drellrane – Human Cleric of Torm – played by Antonin Côté
  • Olzar Kadane – Human Barbarian/Rogue – played by Matthieu Dayon

Our group of players then took a break of about a year and a half, from the fall of 2003 to the beginning of 2005. Once we started playing again, we decided that the characters had also taken a year and a half break from adventuring (although, in most cases, the “break” was hardly a relaxing vacation :) ). It was also to keep a sense of realism about out characters’ progress, as they had gone from level 3 to level 8 in only about 5 game-time months.

In the first 6 months of 2005, we did the first part of the module “Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil”, customized to fit our Forgotten Realms campaign. The intrigue actually took place in Daggerdale, in the spring of 1374. The group was now different, having lost Olzar during the Slave Lords campaign, and having gained new companions:

  • Aravilar – Sun Elf Sorcerer – played by Charles Aboukhaled
  • Cora Thorngage – Ghostwise Halfing Druid – played by Damien Planté
  • Deivin Clearlake – Ghostwise Halfing Ranger – played by Damien Planté
  • Denek Drellrane – Human Cleric of Torm – played by Antonin Côté
  • Kassara – Dwarf Fighter – played by Karine Tremblay
  • Wilkas Graveltoe – Ghostwise Halfling Rogue – played by Donald Bricault

Unfortunately, after a few months, due to “real life” issues, it was becoming increasingly diffcult to schedule games where more than one or two players showed up. Cora also left the group in-game, as her evil tendencies were becoming more and more visible. So basically, the group was left with only Denek (an NPC) and Deivin… So, some new players were recruited. The initial idea was to play a few games on the side, in a different part of the Forgotten Realms, and to then merge this new group with our existing group. However, that little adventure, with Matthieu Dayon as DM, took a life of its own, and we started playing it fully, and it is now not clear when, or even if, this group will merge back with the original one.

So the current group that we have been playing since september 2005 is the following. That part of the campaign is played in the Vilhon Reach, in the fall of 1373. It is going on in parallel to what happened to the other adventurers (and some recurring NPCs from the first part of the campaign make their appearance in this one).

  • Brand – Half-Elf Illusionist – played by Antonin Côté (later switched to another character)
  • Clovis de Valmort – Human Paladin of Lathander – played by Jean-Lou Hamelin
  • Dashiva – Moon Elf Fighter/Cleric of Tempus – played by Nicolas Seyvet (stopped playing after a few games)
  • Father Natas – Human Cleric of Jergal – played by Damien Planté (later switched to another character)
  • Ramirez Di Pietro – Half-Elf Rogue/Sorcerer – played by Ryan Adams
  • Savi Mardak – Human Monk – played Sera Hill
  • Sting Gladius – Human Bard – played by Damien Planté
  • Valeena Akaril – Moon Elf Cleric of Selune – played by Antonin Côté
